Install

Set up what you chose.

Each download is separate. The extension and the Windows companion can be installed independently, and neither needs an account.

Browser extension

Open the store listing. Use Microsoft Edge Add-ons or Firefox Add-ons.
Confirm and pin it. Choose Add extension in Edge or Add in Firefox, then pin Hopper to the toolbar.
Open it once. The welcome screen explains the three tabs. After that, Hopper opens to the workbench.

Updates arrive through Edge Add-ons or Firefox Add-ons.

Windows companion

Download and verify. Check the SHA-256 in the Windows card before running the installer.
Run it through SmartScreen. Choose More info, then Run anyway only if the hash matches.
Start the tray app. Open Hopper's Video or Link tab; it connects to 127.0.0.1:8765. In Firefox, allow the loopback permission if asked.

The installer is unsigned. Download it from this page only.

Android app

Download the APK. Keep the file; it is about 74 MB.
Allow the install. Android asks once whether your browser may install unknown apps.
Install and open. Play Protect may warn because this is not from Google Play. Install anyway only if the file came from this page, then share a link to Hopper.

Before you install

Local conversion runs on your computer. Auto-detect and video downloads use the Windows companion, which requests only the page you choose.

Use Hopper only on media you have the right to download, convert, and keep. Windows will warn about the unsigned companion installer, and Android may warn about the direct APK. Both are expected.
