Terms of use.
The short version: use Hopper on media you have the right to use, and understand that the software is provided as-is. The rest is the detail.
The short version
Hopper is a local media tool. It detects video on supported pages, downloads it through the companion, and converts or trims files on your computer. You are responsible for the media you choose and for how you use the result.
By installing or using Hopper, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the software.
What Hopper does
Hopper provides auto-detect and video downloads for supported pages, local file conversion and trimming, format and quality selection, and direct-link fetching and queueing. Auto-detect, video downloads, and direct-link fetching require the companion; local conversion works without it. The software runs on your device. Hopper does not operate a cloud conversion service, and it does not provide or host media.
Your responsibilities
- Use Hopper only on media you own or have permission to download, convert, copy, and keep.
- Follow the terms and rights that apply to the source of any file or page you use.
- Do not use Hopper to download media you do not have the right to save, infringe copyright, bypass access controls, or break the law.
- Do not redistribute, resell, or misrepresent Hopper as your own product.
- Keep your own backups. Conversion can fail, and an output file can be incomplete.
You are responsible for the files you select, the links you paste, and the results you save.
No warranty
Hopper is provided as-is and as available, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. That includes implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Hopper does not promise that every file or format will convert, that a conversion will be error-free, or that the software will work with every version of every browser or operating system.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hopper's authors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost files, lost time, or lost profits arising from the use of or inability to use Hopper.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for Hopper, which is zero.
Changes and availability
Hopper can change, and features can be added or removed. The current version is offered as described on this site. The Windows companion is offered as a direct installer from this site. It is not code-signed; auto-detect and video downloads require it, while the extension's local conversion does not depend on it.
Third-party services
If you ask Hopper to fetch a video page or a direct link, your request goes to the host of that page, and that host's terms and privacy practices apply. The Windows companion is downloaded directly from this site; no store transaction is involved. Hopper does not control those services.
